The Benefits of HB 5 for Greater Waco:
Greater Waco has enjoyed significant business growth in recent years. Since 2018, 45 projects have been announced across urban and rural communities, including 19 local business expansions and 26 new businesses choosing Greater Waco as their home.

Together these projects bring with them:

  • Nearly 4,000 new jobs
  • $2.5 billion in new taxable investment
  • 7.5 million square feet of real estate development, the majority of which is new construction.

Of these projects, 39 of the 45 engaged in some form of incentive activity. Simply put, we would have lost some of these projects without the right economic development tools. HB 5 ensures our economic development team has the creative tools necessary to remain competitive in attracting new projects to the greater Waco region.

Thank you for your support of HB 5.
