Waco Young Professionals
The Waco YPs host over 30 standalone events each year. We provide monthly luncheons, industry tours, social networking opportunities, monthly service events, and new member drives to attract interest from new young professionals in the Greater Waco area. OUR VISION:
Establish an organization that facilitates the transition, development, and advancement of the Young Professionals in the Greater Waco area in order to succeed the generation that has so fervently served our community. The impetus for our group is to ensure value is being delivered to our members and reinvested into their organization and communal obligations.
OUR MISSION:
To diligently foster and prepare an exceptional pool of confident, competent and well-rounded Young Professionals who feel compelled to promote economic sustainability, engage within their community, and create a valuable, business network.
WHO WE SERVE:
A workforce comprised of ambitious professionals between the ages of 21-40 searching for community and an avenue into the inner workings of the Greater Waco area.
Waco YP Events & Opportunities
Lunch Connections are a monthly opportunity for area YPs to network, share a meal, and learn from a professional development speaker. The lunch is free to Waco YP members, and $15 for non-members. Check our Facebook events for more information on our upcoming Lunch Connection.
Happy Hours are informal opportunities to network with other Waco YP members and explore local establishments. These events are open to members and nonmembers.
Industry Tours provide YPs an opportunity to tour and learn from area industries to see the robust picture of the Waco economy! The goal is to have YPs step outside of their own industry and see the diversity of commerce happening in the Greater Waco community. Community Outreach facilitates the growth of the YPs into servant leaders and exposes our members to people and organizations who have taken an active role in tackling social problems. We hope to encourage exploration for how each individual YP's skills and unique perspectives can aid in the problem-solving process. Sharon Song - Membership
Sharon Song serves on the Membership team. She is the HR Generalist for VanTran Transformers.
Sam Chapman - Engagement
Sam Chapman is on the Engagement team for the Waco YPs, responsible for planning monthly events. He is a financial associate with ClearVista Financial.
John Gorrell - Engagement
John Gorrell is on the Engagement team for the Waco YPs, responsible for planning monthly events. He is part of the Officer Development Training at Extraco Banks.
Michael Morrow - Engagement
Michael Morrow is on the engagement team for the Waco YPs. He is the Group Catering and Sales Manager at the AC Hotel by Marriott Waco.
Lexy Reil - Chamber Liaison
Lexy Reil is the Chamber Liaison for the Waco YPs. She is the Director of Economic Development at the Waco Chamber.
Gil Salinas - Chamber Liaison
Gil Salinas is the Chamber Liaison for the Waco YPs. He is the Research and Project Manager at the Waco Chamber.
